To educate the public on the verifiable history of Reiki Ryoho and provide insight into a Japanese Reiki system based on traditional Japanese techniques.
To support KRD teachers whether their teaching focus is on spiritual development, therapeutic, professional practice or a combination thereof.

To respect personal boundaries, cultural sensitivities and the dignity of all individuals from all walks of life and maintain their privacy.
To act with integrity, sensitivity and be ethical in all interactions with others, to be honest and treat everyone equally regardless of background, race or religious beliefs.
To conduct treatments and classes in a responsible and safe manner that is in line with national and local legislation and is also in line with Hyakuten Inamoto’s teachings.
To maintain the integrity of Komyo ReikiDo in all levels and all Komyo ReikiDo practices.
To comply with national and international copyright and trademark laws. Permission must be given before copying text and the author attributed.
Codes of Practice
Codes of Practice is split into 2 categories, Treatment Codes of Practice and KRD Teaching Code of Practice. Please note that it is the responsibility of each KRD Practitioner and Teacher to comply with the National Code of Conduct. A part of the National Code of Conduct requires all Reiki practitioners, Reiki master and/or teachers to have current and relevant First Aid qualifications as well as up-to-date Public Liability Insurance and Certificate of Currency.
It is highly recommended that each KRD Practitioner and Teacher join a reputable Reiki Association in Australia, Australian Reiki Connection and Reiki Australia. In New Zealand, Reiki Inc. These Reiki Associations will keep you up-to-date on national and local government requirements and will have their own recommended insurance companies, generally at a cheaper rate for members..
Treatment Codes of Practice
KRD Practitioner/Teachers will comply with all national and local legislation in relation to providing Reiki treatments and to comply with KRD Treatment Codes of Practice. KRD Practitioner/Teachers will:
provide safe and clean environment for Reiki treatments.
keep appropriate treatment records and comply with privacy laws.
obtain written consent for treatments.
to respect personal boundaries, religious beliefs and cultural sensitivities.
behave in a calm, professional and ethical manner.
encourage clients to seek healthcare professionals if treatments are outside the scope of practitioner’s qualifications
KRD Practitioner/Teachers will NOT:
exploit clients financially or emotionally.
mislead clients about their services and qualifications.
practice under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
offer medical or psychological opinion, diagnosis, prognosis or recommend/alter medications of any kind unless professionally trained/qualified in the relevant services AND will not make false claims about curing illnesses/disabilities.
incorporate other modalities unless client has given consent.
be disrespectful of healthcare professionals or other Reiki Practitioners.
KRD Teaching Codes of Practice
KRD teachers will uphold the system of Komyo ReikiDo in accordance with Hyakuten Inamoto’s teachings and follow the KRD Teaching Code of Practice.
KRD teachers WILL:
use official Komyo ReikiDo manuals.
will teach the prescribed levels of Komyo ReikiDo and conduct Reiju (attunements) in-person
embody their KRD spiritual practice, be an excellent example to their students, that is, practice what you preach.
use the minimum class standards as the base of their KRD courses.
advertise their classes as Komyo ReikiDo and list the minimum class standards as a minimum.
provide appropriate space for courses in a safe and clean environment.
keep appropriate records and comply with privacy laws.
To respect personal boundaries, religious beliefs and cultural sensitivities.
behave in a calm, professional and ethical manner.
KRD teachers MAY:
verbally supplement their courses with their experience of Reiki Ryoho.
provide additional written course materials that may be required to comply with membership criteria of national Reiki Professional Associations and/or for professional points for conventional healthcare bodies.
increase class time or break down into increments to suit their style of teaching as long the minimum class time is reached.
set post class requirements to include but not limited to, self-treatment journals, records of distant healing/treatments, tests on KRD symbols and/or essays on higher levels of Komyo ReikiDo.
issue certificates at their discretion either at the end of the course or at some later date.
use the KRD hanko and logo for the purpose of marketing Komyo ReikiDo only.
use the name of Komyo ReikiDo as part of their business name and/or Facebook/Instagram business page. Permission must be given before use. Please contact the administrator for conditions of use.
KRD Teachers may NOT:
mix other Reiki systems with Komyo ReikiDo and call the system Komyo ReikiDo.
alter manuals in any way, that is, add to or delete parts of manuals unless permission is given by Hyakuten Inamoto.
share hard or soft copies of manuals with non-Komyo ReikiDo practitioners or non-Komyo ReikiDo teachers.
exploit students financially or emotionally.
practice or teach under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
be disrespectful of other Reiki Teachers, regardless of lineage.
